-Our Stories-

Ang Pre-Wedding Story Co

I just can't believe that you are mine now.
You were just a dream that I once knew.
I never thought I would be right for you.
I just can't compare you with anything in this world.
You're all I need to be here with forevermore.

"One short day to go, and you're mine." This is the text (SMS) message I sent Waltz one day before our wedding -- teehee!

That day, I woke up with a mild sense of a flu coming. I see bruises on my arms and legs. I think the Spa treatment I had the previous day was not a very good idea. I feel so boxed out, I had to pull myself up from the bed, just to finish the seat cards. Oh dear, I am still neck-deep in the task of writing and re-writing the seating arrangement. Geez, people are still texting their regrets until the last minute.

Three PM, I gave up .. if this seating arrangement is going to be changed time and again, then what I have on the list will do (at least until tonight). I just set aside tables where surprise guests may be seated if they suddenly decide to come. Meanwhile, my parents are convinced that I shouldn't be driving to the hotel, so my Dad chauffered me over. En route, we passed by St. Anthony parish for my Confession. Waltz and I met there (not much of a believer of the saying that we shouldn't be allowed to see each other a day before the wedding), but I left earlier than him because he'll be coming to the hotel with his Mom (who's attending the First Friday Mass on the same parish). My Dad, my sister and I then drove over to the hotel.

After check-in, I literally threw my things to the room and ran out for a quick search of a place to have a manicure. Goodness, I didn't know that the shops do not accept clients when it's already 730PM! What to do.. my nails are a big mess (thanks to all the invitations, misalettes and souvenirs I had to cut). Thank heavens I chanced upon this quaint shop in Glorietta, and that's where I had the first ever manicure in my entire life (what a wedding can do, huh?). So, a french tip can really make a girl dainty, I realized. The girl gave me the sweetest smile when I told her I'm getting married tomorrow, so make my nails the prettiest please.

With flaring fingers and a cold feeling on my cuticle, I called up Waltz and asked him to gather both families (his and mine) for a modest dinner. It was a very sweet gesture to see our parents and siblings gel so easily. Waltz and I would exchange glances amidst the chickens that are passed around. We are utterly excited, I can tell!

Back to the hotel, I had to ask the girls (sisters of ours) to do the seat cards for me. No way will I ever be able to cut another paper with this manicure on! Good thing that Dad helped them out, so an otherwise overnight task was finished in an hour. When it was time for bed, I slept between my parents and my sisters on one big bed. This is going to be the last night that I'll sleep as a single lady. I can't help but be filled with a myriad of emotions. I was feeling a tear about to fall when I heard Dad snore. This sent the whole family to a unanimous outrage of AAAARRRGGGHHH!! But my Dad's obviously in deep stupor, unmindful of his family's grumbles. I can't help but smile. You bet that I'm going to miss my family.

I am not sure what time I finally got to sleep. I remember that it was a dreamless slumber, almost felt like I was just in a trance. I was awaken by my parents' tight embrace, waking me up to the day when I shall be married to the man I love.
